Hello, Oscar!

OSCAR (7) must spend the summer at his GRANNY’S house in the country. It might seem like a wonderful opportunity for the two of them to get to know each other better ‒ except the boy finds his grandmother hopelessly old-fashioned and boring, just like all the things at her home. To make this visit even harder to bear, he has left his mobile phone at home. Overwhelmed by boredom, Oscar makes himself a TOY PHONE out of a log he has found in the shed. Much to his surprise, Oscar discovers that on this phone he can call any of the objects he can find in Granny’s house and garden, from her iron to a rusty bike. Furthermore, he can not only chat with them but also offer his help in various important ‘matters of life’: show a chair ‘the world’, become a ‘dentist’ that fixes a rake’s tooth and introduce the broom to its close relative, the toothbrush. The miraculous wooden device makes the boy’s monotonous days much more exciting and meaningful.
